Day 5 – The first final round belongs to Poland.

Desenzano del Garda, 8 June 2024 – The fight continues in Desenzano between the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Desenzano FISU World University Sailing Championship and the high pressure system which, for a few days now, has been limiting the flow of navigable air within the gulf .

Day 4 – Challenges with little wind.

The stabilization of high pressure on the peninsula complicated things on the Desenzano regatta course, where Day 2 of the 2024 Desenzano FISU World University Championship Sailing, an event organized by Fraglia Vela Desenzano in collaboration with FISU, ended with partial completion of the program.

Day 3 – The regattas have begun.

The sixteen competing teams, made up of around ninety sailors and representing the fourteen nations registered, divided into two fleets made up of eight Dolphin 81s identical in performance and all equipped with new sails, completed three races which promoted them to the top of the Canada rankings 2 (1-1-1). Alec Coleman’s team, apparently capable of performing more effectively than all their opponents, scored three firsts and was trailed by just one point from Ange Delerce’s France (1-2-1) and six from pair formed by Australia (2-5-2) by Samuel King and Italia 1 by Alessandro Archetti (4-2-3). Alfonso Palumbo’s Italia 2 (4-4-2) completes the top five.

Day 2 – Practice and parade.

The accreditation procedures for all the athletes were concluded this morning and the Teams’ approach to the regatta boats began with the testing of the boats in what will be the regatta field. Dolphin 81, the boat chosen by Fraglia Vela Desenzano for the FISU World University Championship Sailing regattas. In the afternoon the General Technical Meeting with the presentation of the FISU Board and the explanation of all the rules of the championship.

Day 01 – The arrival of the athletes.

Today, Tuesday 4 June, the adventure of the FISU University Sailing World Championship begins with the arrival of the first teams, accreditation and hotel accommodation at the affiliated facilities in Desenzano del Garda.
