an extraordinary event taking place in the picturesque town of Desenzano del Garda, from June 6th to June 10th. This captivating competition will bring the crystal-clear waters of Lake Garda into the international spotlight as teams from universities around the world compete for the title of World University Sailing Champions.
In the heart of the enchanting Italian lake landscape, from 6 to 10 June 2024, Desenzano del Garda will be transformed into a world arena for university sailing, hosting the prestigious FISU World University Sailing Championship. This world-class sporting event will bring together student-athletes from around the world for a week of exciting competition and sharing unique cultural experiences. With its turquoise waters and constant breezes, Lake Garda will provide the perfect stage for this extraordinary event.
The Opening Ceremony will be held on 05 June at 18:00. The Closing Ceremony and Prize-giving will be held on 09 June at 18:00.
The team base will be located within the Porto Maratona area at the Circolo Fraglia Vela Desenzano. FVD will host all teams and its crews for the entire event.
Inside the nautical base there will be technical spaces for the boats, changing rooms for the teams, food and relaxation areas. Furthermore, large spaces for the public to watch the daily challenges from the panoramic terrace.
